Overall Application Changes - The tables throughout the application have changed to better match the sleeker Material Design.
Influencers - You can add a source name to private contacts.
Newsletters - Automated newsletters are released! And the organization of the Outputs page has been greatly improved.
The tables have changed in the application to better fit into the transformation of the UI into Material Design. This is a change based on a Google backed effort to make applications flatter, flexible, and more responsive. Meltwater has previously made similar changes with the new navigation and the Newswire integration. The design should not come as a surprise to most users as it matches what is seen in many of Google’s product offerings. Take note that there is a new button in the bottom right of the page. That button is called a Floating Action Button (FAB) and will be used for the creation of dashboards, tags, etc.
The pages where the tables have changed are:
- influencer outreach
- Report Settings.
- RSS Feeds
- Manage Users
- Email Settings
To better personalize the experience, updates have been made to allow you to customize and choose what is displayed in the application. In this release, you will be able to hide and unhide dashboards, tags, searches, and RSS feeds! This will greatly help reduce any clutter and help you see only what you need. These changes will not affect other users on your account, but just change what is displayed for the one that hid the item.
You will also be able to select what page the app should open up to on first login. From the Personal Settings page, the Start Page can be set to Dashboards, Home, Inbox, Influencers, or Search.
will be able to add a source name to a private contact. To add the source name, simply edit the private contact and in the "Active On" section of the form, you can add "Source" as a type.
Next, up are some improvements to the brand-new newswire integration :
- Agency support - send wires from more than one organization
- Various usability fixes found during user testing
Automated newsletters are ready for general availability. For the past two releases, we have been running a beta of automated newsletters. In that time, we have received some great feedback and made some significant improvements. We are now ready to enable access to this feature.
You will also notice that the Outputs page has been redesigned, providing a much improved experience! Newsletters and newsfeeds have been broken out to separate tabs, allowing the respective tables to be more applicable to each type of output. The newsletter distribution table has been also redesigned and now supports proper sorting of newsletters . We’ve also added in the subject line to each distribution listed, to provide better context to you.
You can more readily take action by clicking on the rows or selecting from the new action menu bar at the top of the table; allowing you to moderate both newsletters and newsfeeds that much quicker. Cool toolbar icons (with tooltips!) allow you to take appropriate action on different outputs. There are literally dozens of other small improvements made to Outputs.
In addition to these changes, we also made some small improvements based on feedback:
- Subject Line for newsletters has been increased to support 80 characters (previously 40)
- Meltwater copyright brand has been removed from custom templates (previously this was embedded in all templates)
